Introducing the weekly community poetry circle, created and hosted by neighbor Jim Kissinger. “I’d like to announce the Richard S. Jones Memorial Poetry Circle (or Richard’s Poetry Night for short) at the Lake Claire Community Land Trust. We will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7pm until 8 or 9pm, depending on the turnout.”
Richard was a humanist from Franklin, NC whose family have been stewards of Wayah Bald near Franklin for generations. The group was started in March 2023 by Richard's friend Jim Kissinger, a physician from Massachusetts and will continue it’s journey at the Land Trust.
Please be mindful of direct neighbors when parking, coming and going due to the hours. Only other rule is no profanity. Please use common sense and courtesy when selecting your poems!
This will be an informal circle where we can each read a poem, ode, haiku, sonnet, etc. in turn of any author, genre or era. Jim will post a list of the author/titles read on Next Door after each meeting. Bring your poems and bring a friend! If you can only come by for a short spell, please do.
The poetry circle will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings.
