We are saddened to report the unexpected death of Richard Powers on Sunday, 10/8/2023. Richard was instrumental in founding the Land Trust and has been continuously involved for almost 40 years. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences go out to his three children, Ben, Diana and Grace.

Richard was a community thinker, even before his Land Trust days. He invested time, energy and capital in the greater good, sharing whatever he could with others. Whether it was blowing the conch shell at festivals or speaking into a microphone with his resonant voice, Richard brought us together. His kind and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. Rest peacefully, dear friend.
