Proud Lake Claire resident Nomie Baker is a local comedian and the producer of Lavender Laughs Atlanta, a grassroots organization that supports womxn and LGBTQIA+ comedians. These minority groups within the comedy community deserve better access to opportunities in the industry, and everyone benefits from exposure to new ideas and diverse experiences. Starting as a bi-monthly open mic at Candler Rail Brewery, Lavender Laughs has produced shows for International Women's Day, April Fools, and miscellaneous birthdays. In honor of Pride Week, this special show will feature comedians that range across identities and show the spectrum of our stories. Note that there will be no content restrictions (profanity is allowed); families can decide if they want to bring kids or not. The show is free but we will gratefully accept donations to be split between LCCLT and Lavender Laughs.
