Enjoy a vegan feast and learn from Macrobiotic chef (and long-time Land Trust community member) Carol Schreiner, a.k.a. “Macrobiotic Care Bear.” Carol studied under pioneering Japanese chef Michio Kushi in Boston in the 1970s, was personal chef for international best-selling health-food author Donna Gates, and has been nurturing her community and family with her Macrobiotic cooking skills ever since.
At this event you will learn about the principles of Yin and Yang in Macrobiotic cooking and gather with others interested in this type of non-inflammatory, anti-cancer, whole-food cooking. Macrobiotic Care Bear will be assisted by her son, Daniel Rodriguez (Vegan Doja), and Decatur native Alex Thibadeau. Depending on interest, we’d love to make this a regular gathering. A “Pick-Up & Take-Home” option is available too.
Cost: $25/meal (sliding scale available; proceeds to be split with LCCLT). Limited spots available! RSVP to MacrobioticCareBear@gmail.com or @macro_care_bear on Instagram by Tuesday, 10/4. Get in touch for more info or to qualify for our sliding scale.
