"Bringing Death Home" Workshop

  • Lake Claire Community Land Trust 270 Arizona Avenue Northeast Atlanta, GA, 30307 United States (map)

with Narinder Elizabeth Bazen

Talking about death won’t kill you. In fact, talking about death is essential for dealing with our death anxieties. Death is not just a medical event; it's a spiritual, emotional, and communal event as well. Holistic choices in care for the dying, home funerals, natural burial, and healthy grieving are becoming widely available. Atlanta’s “Death Midwife,” Narinder Bazen, blends reverence, experience, storytelling, straight talk and humor to shed light on the great mystery of death. At the end, you’ll be invited to gather round a simulated deathbed to learn why caring for a loved one's body is a sacred and healthy way to start the grieving process. Class limit: 45 people. $25 per ticket (proceeds to be split 50/50 between the Land Trust and Free Fridge Atlanta). Please purchase tickets in advance here or the day of if space allows.

Narinder Elizabeth Bazen has been serving the Atlanta area as a Holistic Death Care Activist and Death Midwife for many years. Learn more about Narinder and her Atlanta Death Midwifery practice at narinderbazen.com.
