The mission of the LCCLT is to maintain a local green space in the Lake Claire community of Atlanta where neighbors and the larger community can gather to cultivate and celebrate nature, the arts, and each other.  Our idyllic community-owned green space in the heart of the city is ideal for outdoor activities, meetings, classes, camps and fund-raisers and furthers the Land Trust  educational, recreational, and charitable goals.

Aug. 6, 7:00 pm-midnight: JerryJam. A musical tribute to Jerry Garcia benefiting the Land Trust. (See article.)

Aug. 8, 3:00-6:00 pm: “Keep the Trust” volunteer work day. Pizza will be served when we finish. Also, volunteers will receive a free pass to the next drum circle.

Aug. 13, 6:30 pm: monthly potluck at the Gazebo. Please bring your own plate and utensils. (Labeling the ingredients in your dish will be helpful to vegetarians and other folks with diet restrictions.)

In July, our new Board of Directors elected its officers for the coming year. Congratulations to Reuben Haller, our new president; Chris McKenna, treasurer; and Stephen Wing, secretary. We also have new leadership for the Planning, Grounds, Events and Communications committees. Many thanks to outgoing president Charlie Pope, treasurer Scooter McLane, secretary Bernard Spenle, and all the other volunteers who have helped us create our magical community space in the city.
