Grounds Committee

The Grounds Committee meets on the Thursday before each Drum Circle Saturday to plan our work projects for the “Keep the Trust” volunteer day on Sunday. Meetings usually take place at 6:30 pm at the Gorilla Grill. All are welcome to attend.

Major projects on the horizon include improvements to the Gorilla Grill and erecting a donated greenhouse. If you have special skills or experience in carpentry, get in touch!

The Grounds Committee of the Lake Claire Community Land Trust (Land Trust) is responsible for ensuring that the Land Trust grounds are safe, well maintained and friendly, as well as, developing and implementing short and long term projects for the improvement and maintenance of the grounds and structures on the Land Trust. The Committee’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general maintenance, organization of the “Keep the Trust” Work Days, special projects, supplies and maintenance. The Committee will meet twice monthly or as needed. By involving volunteers and friends of the Land Trust, the Grounds Committee seeks to help make the Land Trust a place that invites social change, support of the community by providing space for gardens, meetings and performances that celebrate our connection to one another and the earth. Among our responsibilities are General Maintenance including trash and recycling, water and electrical systems, structures and paths. Also by maintaining the Land Trust’s tools, we will be a resource for gardeners, nature enthusiasts and builders needed to help make the Land Trust successful. By organizing the volunteer work force on the “Keep The Trust” days we will plan and complete special projects, maintain our systems, keep supplies necessary to fulfill our responsibilities and provide oversight to the Gardens Committees and volunteer work force.
